This picture captures a great egret or Ardea alba. These white birds tend to live in warm or tropical climates but in the United States, they are widely distributed. They can stand up to three and three tenths feet and have a wingspan of thirty one to forty one inches. When it is the birds breeding season, they flock to central Asia. The way you tell the difference from a regular egret to one that is looking for a mate is the ones that are looking for a mate's facial skin turns bright green. They are of least concern but it is still quite a feat to see one.
